I am very pleased to have been invited by HALI Magazine, London, to published an article for the Summer issue 196, which introduces in depth, information pertaining to the little known collection of mid-8th c. Tang dynasty felt carpets. These thin, colorful floral motif felt carpets, called Kasen, are housed in Nara, Japan, under the auspices of the Kunaicho, Imperial Household Agency, and on rare occasions during the annual Shoso-in Exhibition at the end of October to mid-November a few may be displayed along with other rare objects illuminating the life of the court at the last depot of the Silk Road to the East
