Art Ohara Internal Exhibition 2026

In an era where the nature of communication is wavering and being re-examined, the 3rd Kyoto Art OHARA International Exhibition begins with residency and public art creation by three artists from Japan and abroad, and will continue with an exhibition featuring artists who will join from different regions.
In addition to the Ohara Cultural Center, exhibitions will also be held at various temples in the area, such as Jakko-in, Hosen-in, Shorin-in, and the gallery inside the Doi Shibazuke main store, all nestled in the beautiful environment of Ohara.

Workshops will be held with international artists for local children and citizens, aiming to revitalize the Ohara area and promote international exchange through art.

Jorie will display a new series of wall/window treatments produced with translucent Swiss wool, skeletal leaves, Kudzu fiber, paper thread, and clamp-resist Shibori dye technique.
Enjoy a stroll through Ohara in the season of fresh greenery, surrounded by art.

Jorie’s work will be displayed at Hosen-in from April 24 – May 5, 9:00AM – 5:00PM (last entry 4:30PM). Free Entrance!
