TEXTILE & ARCHITECTURE – THE ART OF DIMENSIONAL TRANSFORMATION

The World Shibori Network Foundation (WSNF), in collaboration with the Museum der Kulturen Basel (MKB), presents its signature International Shibori Symposium for the 12th time (12 ISS). The symposium celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the seminal publication, The Dyer’s Art, by Jack Lenor Larsen and Alfred Bühler of MKB, Solyom and Solyo

The symposium bridges textile and architecture through the lens of dimensional transformation.

The two-day main symposium program includes 5 concurrent panel discussions, Ana Lisa Hedstrom will be the moderator of two panels, one of which Jorie has been invited to participate in.
Panel 1 “Is Shibori Relevant Today?: Clothing, Evolution and Future” followed by Panel 2 “Shibori: Practice Past and Present”.

– How have contemporary artists used unlikely materials and tools.
– How can digital printing and 3D printers inspire artists and designer? AI?
