Gallery MARONIE 3 Fl. exhibition space
The theme of this group exhibition is “Omamori”, popular Japanese good luck charms purchased at temples, shrines, and festivals throughout the country. From school graduations to road safety, these numerable amulets will support you through your life (even for safe childbirth), so you, or your grandmother, don’t have to keep “fingers crossed” all the time! 🤞
Gallery MARONIE has invited contemporary artists to produce their own version of these (left) hand-size, powerful objects. Why the LEFT hand? Well, it is where the 0mamori sits in the hand of Buddha.
Jorie will exhibit felt “Fortune Cookies” pouches for your favorite good luck objects like a special stone, 5-yen coin, or evil eyeglass bead…what is your favored good luck charm?
