Aichi: Higashi Okazaki 2013.12.7~15 Jorie Johnson: INTERTWINED

KiykuGalleryDmFrKikyukan, in Higashi Okazaki (30 mins. from Nagoya Station on the Meitetsu Line) is a wonderful exhibition hall featuring plenty of space for Jorie’s work and many items she has developed in collaboration with her artist friends. See felt with lacquer, leather, ceramics as well as silk and various auxiliary materials. A small retrospective of Joi Rae Textiles’ works showing the broad range of possibilities of hand feltmaking and the newest in the series of silk/wool fiber wraps and felt/Japanese lacquer brooches among other fascinating wearable pieces. Welcome to the opening reception on December 7th at 17:30.
