Now on a nine month rotation are examples of two series of works from the Joi Rae Textiles studio. The Tea Series is developed by inlay Japanese washi paper, silk fabric, yarn and metallic leaf on a Swiss Walliser wool base. The Vessel series, in collaboration with Clifton Monteith (MI), was previously exhibited at The Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, NYC, during the Felt Fashion exhibition and is an example of direct application of Japanese lacquer on wool felt. If you are in Boston this summer please stop by the Daphne and Peter Farago Gallery (Gallery 258) in the Contemporary Wing of the Museum of Fine Arts.
